PARAGON GOLDEN-AGE GREATS No. 1 Download

This is a facsimile reproduction of the very first Paragon Publication, PARAGON GOLDEN-AGE GREATS printed in B&W in 1969. To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Paragon Publications (1969 - 2019), Bill Black has recreated this book in full color. As a fanzine this was Black's attempt to bring back the Golden-Age CAPTAIN MARVEL done in a Marvel Comics style. Note this was years before DC launched SHAZAM! For comparison an actual Fawcett Publications story "Captain Marvel Battles The God Of Crime" by Pete Constanza is also featured. As was common practice in Fanzines of the 1960's homage to other classic comic book characters (The Vigilante, Captain Midnight, Captain Marvel, Jr. and the Sub-Mariner) are included. The entire 40 page book was written, illustrated and colored by Bill Black. BONUS SECTION contains images of that original 1969 publication including art not featured in the 2019 print version of the book.
